Millions of digitized historical sea‐level pressure observations rediscovered

Millions of sub-daily sea-level pressure observations taken between 1919 and 1960 over the British Irish Isles were transcribed from paper records in early 2000s but not published subsequently forgotten. A chance discussion led to rediscovery data 5.47 million 160 locations are now made available, although have been fully quality-controlled. Much 3-hourly, allowing for detailed examinations synoptic weather variations this region time period, will be invaluable constraining future reanalyses.
